I’ve always believed sex-workers had a quite dangerous work environment and combining this with public perceptions about them, yielded jaded, cynical and hard people. Not so for Rachel Wotton, whose Scarlet Road documentary was both uplifting and enlightening.

Rachel is intelligent, articulate, caring, and enjoys her life. That she will succeed in her goals – whatever they may be is a given. She has my respect and admiration for making the lives of so many richer – and not just her clients, but their relatives and friends as well.

Bravo Rachel, and I wish you and your partner all the best.

I am not involved in the business and niether was a born with any issues. In fact, I am fortunate enough to have been given many advantages in life and the cognitive capacity to appreciate it.

In my view, Rachel Wotton is amazing. I dont quite understand fully all the nuances of what she does but I do believe she is doing some real good for people and certainly, no harm. In reality I cant quite work out the motivation other than a desire to make a living doing something which is truly doing people good. I believe, she should be given the honour and respect she deserves.

Rachel – you are a truly amazing woman. I watched the documentary last night on SBS – a mind-awakening experience. Your compassion and ability to connect with people was wonderful to see. It was so obvious to me that you have a special gift to empathise with those disabled people who have absolutely no other help or assistance with their sexual/sensual needs. To see you with Mark on his birthday, and also watching his wonderful parents assist with his ‘ birthday present’ was an extremely humbling and touching experience.
I do hope that this documentary helps to change in some small way, people’s perception of sex-workers. Bearing in mind, of course, that you are, I think, quite exceptional.

Good on you Rachel Wotton. There should be more like you. People with disabilities are people first. They have wants and needs just like the rest of the community.

Dear Rachel if I can speak to like that after just viewing the documentary Scarlet Road. I all of a sudden feel that I know you because I’m a person with Cerebral Palsy from Melbourne. I’d like to know if you have any plans for coming to Melbourne in the New Year because I’d like to meet you and have a great night together.I could do with an uplifting experience and I want to have you as my sex worker if you’d agree to it? Your whole attitude is just so spot on and you’d have to have one of most understanding partners he’s just brilliant but then so are you and all your family and friends. I’ve been wanting to have the services of a sex worker for quite some time now, but having three relationships over the Internet in the past three years, the longest being a week of 16 months. Hi Rachel , you are to congratulated, I have a 30 yr old daudgter with a disability and while she has a boyfriend , they see eachother every sunday, she talks about sex but is still a virgin, however if she came home and told me she and David had sex I would be delighted , I know of a mother with a son with a disability who used a sex worker in 1980 when they lived in Gosford I always thought how courageous and forward thinking she was Happy to chat on the subject if you wish. cheers Bernie. ..
